Basic Function

The Flynn campus consists of four contingent buildings.  The Flynn hosts approximately 180 public events with as many as 1,400 attendees at each.   The Security Manager will oversee security measures throughout The Flynn campus and will contract and supervise outside security vendors for Flynn performances.  The Security Manager works with other staff to ensure the safety of people and property at The Flynn.


Characteristic Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide estimates for security contracting upon request from internal departments (Producing, Presenting, and Rentals).  
  • Once an event is confirmed, contract appropriate security personnel. Communicate security arrangements to internal departments including
  • Front of House. Work with clients to accommodate any
  • Supervise each Mainstage event security shift
  • Monitor security of access points throughout The Flynn buildings.
  • Manage keys and electronic door passes.
  • Manage keypad codes and access.
  • Working with IT Manager, maintain functionality, access, and monitoring of surveillance camera system
  • Additional duties as assigned.


Hours

  • Monday – Sunday, mostly nights and weekends, approximately 40 hours per week, one – two days off per week.

Supervision Received

Supervision is received from the General Manager.


Required Qualifications

  • At least one year’s experience with security and/or public crowd control.
  • Calm, service-oriented demeanor; level-headed in crisis
  • Leadership experience
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to see, hear, and stand/walk for several hours at a time.  Comfort walking up and down stairs.


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working security at a public venue serving 1000+ patrons daily
  • Customer service experience
